With the gradual maturity of smart retail capability, Suning e-buy has further determined the independent development strategy of cloud WanDian, comprehensively benchmarked the head Internet retail platform, integrated online business and introduced strategic investment, planned to increase employee equity incentive, and explored independent listing.
In the fourth quarter, the operating revenue of Suning e-buy increased by 13.75% year on year, and the sales scale of cloud WanDian platform increased by 33.67% year on year.
Suning e-buy said that with the completion of the strategy of attracting investment of WanDian, the capital strength and external cooperation resources are enhanced, and the revenue of self operated commodity retail and logistics business is expected to achieve rapid growth. However, the decline of the shareholding ratio of Listed Companies in WanDian makes the impact of the losses brought by Internet investment on Suning e-buy decline.
In 2020, the retail cloud business of Suning e-buy will maintain rapid growth, with 3201 new stores opened in the whole year, and the proportion of non electrical appliances merchants on the open platform will increase to 86.81%.
At the same time, Suning e-buy further increased the input of user operating subsidies and commodity operating subsidies online. The number of active buyers in the fourth quarter increased by 52% year-on-year, and the number of monthly active users in December increased by 68% year-on-year.
In addition, Suning e-buy has also increased the Internet operation of its stores, and developed social marketing such as Suning tweets, store live broadcast, and Su Xiaotuan. In 2020, the online sales scale brought by store tweets will grow by 145.70% year on year.
Carrefour supermarket home business also further expanded the scope of distribution. In 2020, the number of home business orders increased by 139% year on year.
According to the announcement, in 2020, Suning e-buy also carried out a series of work arrangements of cost reduction and efficiency increase and business focus, clearly put forward the development requirements of focusing on the main retail industry, and actively implemented cost reduction and efficiency increase, strengthened personnel performance appraisal and improved input-output efficiency. During the reporting period, the total cost rate decreased by 1.15 percentage points year-on-year.
In addition, Suning logistics also focuses on providing integrated warehouse and distribution services for suppliers and merchants of Suning e-buy platform. As of December 31, 2020, Suning e-buy has put 67 logistics bases into operation in 48 cities, and 17 logistics bases are under construction and expansion in 15 cities.
Suning e-buy expects that the sales scale will achieve stable growth in 2021, and the non net profit will be significantly improved.
