On the evening of March 30, the World Health Organization (who) released a joint research report on the traceability of China who new coronavirus.

From January 14 to February 10 this year, 17 Chinese experts and 17 foreign experts formed a joint expert group, which was divided into three groups: epidemiology, molecular traceability and animal and environment. The 28 day global traceability study in China was carried out in Wuhan.

In fact, as early as February 9 this yearThe joint expert group has listed four hypotheses for the transmission of the new coronavirus to humans, namely, direct transmission from animals to humans, intermediate host, food chain transmission (especially frozen food), and laboratory leakage.

Among them,The introduction of new coronavirus into human through intermediate host, that is, first infecting animals close to human beings, and then infecting people. Most likely, it is extremely impossible that new coronavirus is leaked in laboratory, and it will not be studied in the future.

Liang Wannian, leader of the Chinese expert group, said that the report is the result of the joint efforts of Chinese and foreign experts and embodies the joint efforts of Chinese and foreign experts in the joint expert group. The joint expert group always adheres to scientific thinking and carries out research cooperation based on evidence.

The new coronavirus traceability in China is a part of the global traceability and the first step. All conclusions and recommendations of the report are based on a global perspective, and future research will not be limited to a certain region.

At the same time, the report puts forward suggestions for further research of the joint expert group, including establishing a global unified database, continuing to search for possible early cases in a wider range of the world, searching for animal species that may become virus hosts in many countries by global scientists, and further understanding the role of cold chain and frozen food in the process of virus transmission.
