Generally speaking, obsolete products are defined as products that have been produced for more than five years but less than seven years. Devices on this list will no longer be eligible for service at Genius Bar or Apple authorized service providers.
Apple announced the next generation of MacBook Pro with retina screen and redesigned the third generation of 15 inch MacBook Pro in WWDC on June 12, 2012. Then in October, they also brought the 13 inch MacBook Pro with retina display.
For the current MacBook Pro Series, Apple has made a new adjustment since November 11, 2020, which is simply to carry its own M-series chip.
