Engineers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory decided to modify and re install the smart's flight control software, a process that took days. NASA tweeted on Friday night that the smart has completed its full spin test and is ready for its first flight. While re installing and testing the flight software, the smart was waiting on the surface of Mars' yezelo crater.

Once it does take off, it will climb to an altitude of about 10 feet (3 meters) above the ground, then hover in place for 30 seconds, eventually turn in mid air and re land to the surface. The bottom camera can take 30 ground photos per second, while the other cameras will face the horizon and take photos while flying. At the same time, the camera on the willpower will also record the flight process of the smart.

After the first test, according to the plan, wit is expected to carry out a series of higher and longer test flights within 30 Mars days. Willpower will monitor the progress of the helicopter's flight test, and then continue its mission, including searching for signs of ancient life on Mars and collecting samples for future retrieval.
