Tencent was fined for Monopoly: involving multiple cases, with a total penalty of 500000 yuan per case

On April 30, according to the state market supervision website, the State Administration of market supervision made an administrative penalty decision on nine cases of illegal concentration of operators in the Internet field according to the law, and the relevant enterprises were fined 500000 yuan respectively.


It is reported that among the nine cases involved this time,Tencent is directly related to the acquisition of BITAUTO Holdings Limited and Shanghai lantu Information Technology Co., Ltd. by Tencent Holdings Co., Ltd., and the establishment of a joint venture between Linzhi Tencent Technology Co., Ltd. and Dalian Wanda Business Management Group Co., Ltd.

According to the inquiry, Shenzhen Tencent computer system Co., Ltd. was founded in November 1998 by Ma Huateng, Zhang Zhidong, Xu chenye, Chen Yidan and Zeng Liqing.

The business scope of Linzhi Tencent Technology Co., Ltd. is the development and sales of computer software and hardware technology; Economic information consultation and enterprise management consultation; Domestic trade; Invest and set up industries. The legal representative is Li Chaohui, currently the investment management partner of Tencent, general manager of M & a department and vice president of Tencent group.

From the information published on the official website,The above nine cases all violated Article 21 of the anti monopoly law of the people's Republic of China, constituted illegal concentration of business operators, and were assessed as not having the effect of eliminating and restricting competition. The relevant enterprises were fined 500000 yuan respectively.

It is worth mentioning that,It was reported yesterday thatTencent may be punished for its monopoly and anti competitive behavior, and the amount of punishment is not expected to exceed Alibaba's 18.228 billion yuan, but at least more than 10 billion yuan.

In addition to the monopoly problem, Tencent also has some businesses facing anti competitive behavior investigation, and the investigation is mainly focused on music streaming media.
