On May 22, Xiaomi announced the sales report of Xiaomi 11 series.

The global sales of Xiaomi 11, Xiaomi 11 pro and Xiaomi 11 ultra exceeded 3 million units, ranking the first in the sales of Android mobile phone series in the domestic price range of 4000-6000 yuan.

Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi group in China and general manager of redmi brand, pointed out that,If Xiaolong 888 were not out of stock, the number would be far more than 3 million.

Lu Weibing said that the world is experiencing a shortage of chips. This shortage cycle will not be too short, and it is certainly impossible to ease this year. Optimistic about the first half of next year, but it is also very difficult, so the probability is that there will still be an overall shortage next year.

It is reported that there are several reasons for the shortage of chips. On the demand side, the first is that the capacity of 5g chips is about twice that of 4G chips, and the production speed of 5g mobile phones is much faster than everyone's forecast;

The second is the demand for smart cars and the Internet of things. Smart cars consume a huge amount of chip capacity. This year, there may be millions of smart cars in the world, which are difficult to produce due to the lack of chips. The third is the home office caused by the epidemic, which has increased the demand for notebook, TV, pad, camera and so on.
